So I’m wearing these YMC shorts and it’s brilliantly nice out tonight, but most people are just getting drunk and doing their St. Patrick’s Day deeds before the week starts. I’d really love to go grab a couple drinks somewhere low-key with a couple of good talkers, but I don’t think I know enough of them right now to make that happen. It’s unfortunate that most of my best friends no longer live here; I really miss going to happy hours with them in the summer, sitting on patios and watching people.
Today was a bit of an eye-opener because I realized how much I truly enjoy acting and preparing and being on set and just generally being around film projects. It’s something I believe (fearfully, for the lack of steady pay) that I’m going to have to pursue more aggressively. A lot of it is that I think I should be dating an actress or a musician, but most of it is because I genuinely adore the process, the medium, and the people with whom I’ve worked as an actor. Plus, I have a feeling that with the right training and dedication I could get to be pretty damn good at it.
It’s not yet the time; but it will be soon. Hollywood.
