Bromance and The City
I don’t know if you realized what today is, but if you did then you’re probably just as excited as I am. Today, ladies and gentlemen, is the day that MTV will premiere the first two shows in its new lineup of faux-reality TV: The City, starring stick-figure beauty Whitney Port (of The Hills fame); and Bromance, a charming little competition show a la Paris Hilton’s New BFF starring none other than Olympian offspring Brody Jenner (also of The Hills fame).
Do you know what this means? I think, from where I stand, that it means MTV is totally returning to its roots! First it’s Yelle and 3OH!3 in the background of real-life TV programming about real people (like you and me!). Then it’s, like, music videos all night from 1am to 3am. If that’s not retro cool I don’t know what is. It’s so Gen-Y!
MTV always has their finger on the pulse, you guys. It’s definitely the most in-touch channel on cable.
