My Little Brother

We’ve got nothing in common. We’ve got more than seven years between us and I don’t know how to act like a responsible older brother. I just know how to sit here and say ‘don’t do what your friends do. Go to a better school than I did. Make more of your youth than I did. Don’t waste your youth on being too young.’ But what’s important is that we don’t talk about those things; that we spend time being brothers and hanging out and talking about life as if it were a gift.

But we don’t, and because I’m his older brother and he’s still growing up…it’s my fault.
